By Uche AmunikeVeteran Nollywood actor, Chidi Mokeme mourns presently, having lost his sister, Ebele Mokeme Uche-Nwene who died at the age of 48 after battling with illness and his cousin, Nicole Mokeme who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Portland.
He shared the sad news on his verified Instagram page where he stated that the Maine State Police and the Maine Department of Public Safety are still searching for the hit-and-run vehicle which has been described as a 2016 black BMW X3 SUV with Maine license plates 5614WM and registered to 35 year old Raymond Lester of Portland.
The police are still in search for the driver and has asked the public to help them in locating anyone with reliable information concerning the driver or the vehicle by reaching out to the main Police department immediately the get any information.
As the thespian, Chidi Mokeme mourns his loved ones, his pain is clearly shown from his post on his social media handle. It was titled ‘Gone Too Soon’. He wrote:
‘It’s been a crazy couple of days as our family mourns the loss and transition of our angels.’
‘It is with profound sadness that I share with you the untimely and unfortunate passing of my immediate younger sister Ebele Mokeme Uche-Nwene, who would have been 48yrs next month and My Cousin Nicole Mokeme, 35.’
‘While Ebele lost her battle to illness, Nicole was killed by a hit-and-run driver.’
‘May their spirit-filled souls rest eternally in the Lord, and I solicit your prayers for Ebele’s young twins, Nicole’s daughter, our family, my mum, Nicole’s parents, and the loved ones and friends they left behind. I’m compelled to share this information because Nicole’s killer is still out there on the loose.’
‘The Maine State Police, and the Maine Department of Public Safety are in search of the hit-and-run vehicle described as a 2016 black BMW X3 SUV with Maine license plates 5614WM and is registered to 35yr old Raymond Lester of Portland. The Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle. If you see the vehicle, or have any reliable information, please call the Maine Police Department immediately.’
Even as the demoralized Chidi Mokeme mourns the double tragedy of losing his two female relatives, he did not disclose the nature of the sickness that ended his sister’s life, but assured his numerous fans that his family was taking solace in the legacy she left behind.
He wrote: ‘ RIP sis. Doesn’t make sense but you lived your life prepared to meet the Lord at any time. In that, we take solace. You can finally rest in perfect peace.’
The veteran thespian is a household name in the Nollywood industry. He is also a reality show host and was one of the best hosts that ever anchored the Gulder Ultimate Search Reality Show. He hails from Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State and is married with two children.
