With Veteran actor Olu Jacob’s birthday around the corner, his colleagues in the movie industry have already taken to their Instagram pages to shower him with heartfelt accolades, even though he will turn 80 on July 11, a few days from now.
This all started when his wife, Joke Silva posted a throwback picture of the legendary thespian with a lively caption, gayly anticipating his special day. She posted: ‘Who has the foggiest idea who this handsome young man is…#80th birthday loading…’.
This moved mutual friends and colleagues in the industry to celebrate him heartily, even though it was still a few days to his 80th birthday. The went to their Instagram pages to pour out their hearts as they wished him well.
Pete Edochie posted: ‘When I started my acting career in 2005, one of my biggest wishes was to be on set with the Legendary Uncle Olu Jacobs. I finally got that opportunity many times and I learnt so much from him. And I’ll forever be grateful. A very happy 80th birthday to you, Sir. May God be with you always. We love you.’
On his part, Actor Uzee Uzman posted: ‘Old age is a blessing, grey hair is a rare privilege only a few get to enjoy. Happy birthday to one of Nollywood’s finest, a living legend and an award-winning actor, Daddy Olu Jacobs. May God continue to bless you with good health and wellness. I celebrate you, Daddy.’
Actor Femi Adebayo wasn’t left out in pouring Encomiums in anticipation of a great celebration of Olu Jacob’s birthday: Hear him: ‘I celebrate a living legend of arts and entertainment on his 80th birthday. Popular actor Jide Kosoko certainly is a man of a few words as he simply celebrated the much loved Olu Jacobs thus: ‘Happy birthday, Sir Olu Jacobs.’
Saheed Balogun, also out posted his congratulatory message to the amiable veteran by wishing him thus: ‘Happy birthday to our greatest legend, Daddy Olu Jacobs; we are proud of you, Daddy.’
Still on Olu Jacob’s birthday encomiums, Actor Mustapha Sholagbade had this to say: ‘Happy 80th birthday, Sir, may God be pleased with your new age, Sir. I wish you more strength, happiness and everlasting joy. Amen.’
The Thespian, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, who is popularly known in the movie industry as Olu Jacobs was born July 11, 1942. He is a Nigerian actor and film executive who has featured in several British television series and international movies. He has been respected by many in Nigeria and beyond and considered one of the greatest African actors of his generation. He has been married to Veteran actress Joke Silva for 33years and their union is blessed with children.
