Nigerians have been warned by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), to beware of dealing with organizations and individuals that operate under fake company names and registration numbers that are not found in their official records, even as they released CAC fake companies list to the general public.
This disclosure was made, Tuesday through a statement signed by the CAC management and posted across its social media handles.
The statement partly read: ‘Public is hereby warned to disregard these entities and exercise the highest level of caution when dealing with individuals or organisations using the names with corresponding purported RC numbers below.’
According to the Commission, CAC fake companies list include: ‘Famas Services Nigeria Limited (RC 216312), Promo Dutch Investment Limited (RC 396654), Dialack Concept Nig. Ltd (RC 297772), and Purpleheart Construction and Real Estate Mgt. Co. Ltd (RC 1210548).’
They further warned the general public beware of M/S Loktu Enterprises (BN 373466), Loktu Enterprises (BN 400390), Badatoyak Ltd (RC 521322), Johson Nats Limited (RC 198492), Peoples Club Nigeria International (CAC/IT/41191), and Jiba Enterprise (BN 577523), as well as Civil Engineering Solutions Nigeria Limited (RC 33001), Gabdoff Hotel Ltd (RC 112409), Amoka Group (BN 545221), BEEC Nigeria Limited (RC 30143), and S. S. Adetunji (BN 657466).
The statement further explained: ‘This publication is in line with our statutory mandate to maintain an accurate, reliable companies register and to protect investors, businesses and the general public from fraudulent activities.’
The CAC also advised the general public to continue to verify the status of any company or business name directly on the CAC portal before being involved in any transaction, reiterating that they remain committed to the important duty of protecting the integrity of the Companies Register, legally, while making sure that the business environment in Nigeria is safe and transparent.
They also urged Nigerians and businesses to carefully verify all entity details before they commit to any transaction, by checking company names and RC or BN numbers using the CAC online verification portal; Requesting incorporation documents when engaging in sensitive or high-value transactions; Avoiding payments to entities that cannot be verified; Reporting suspicious corporate identities to the CAC or relevant law enforcement agencies.
The statement further averred: ‘The CAC remains committed to protecting the integrity of the Companies Register, upholding the law, and ensuring a safe and transparent business environment in Nigeria.’
The CAC does not maintain a particular list of fake companies. Rather, they issue public notices periodically and delist entities found to be operating with fake or invalid registration numbers.
In August 2025, the CAC delisted 247 companies from its database after discovering that they were never registered as limited liability companies, but had rather been parading fake Registered Certificates (RC) numbers that were never assigned to them by the Commission. This led to the CAC consequently removing their names and RC numbers from the database.
The CAC urges members of the public to ignore any claims by the above delisted firms to legal personality because such companies have no rights or obligations under Nigerian law.
