The newly appointed Managing Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, has promised to make impacts in the organization by making great changes through technology and human capital development.
Speaking, during the handover ceremony held, Monday, in Abuja, she expressed her gratitude for a smooth transition and thanked President Bolade Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for availing her the opportunity to serve the country, stating that the mandate of the NDPHC is clearly to execute and manage national IPP assets optimally.
Her words: ‘Our mandate at NDPHC is clear: to execute and manage national IPP assets optimally.’
‘My vision rests on three pillars: optimising asset performance, enhancing process efficiency, and leveraging technology and human capital for positive change.’
While underscoring the need for human capital, she maintained that human capital is the greatest asset of the NDPHC.
She further acknowledged her predecessor, Chinedu Ugbo, for his exceptional leadership and demanded that he is given a standing ovation. Her words: ‘Today, we honour the outgoing MD, who has been eager to pass the baton. I suggest we give him a standing ovation for his exceptional leadership.’
She also expressed her excitement at collaborating with her new team, adding that she looked forward to working with them, with the belief that they would bring diverse backgrounds and expertise which will help in propelling the NDPHC to great heights.
Jennifer Adighije appealed to everyone to join her team in supportive President Buhari’s agenda for accelerating prosperity through energy efficiency, describing it as a noble cause.
During the handover ceremony, her predecessor thanked God, former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Yomi Osinbajo, for giving him the opportunity to serve Nigeria. He equally thanked President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for letting him complete his tenure.
His words: ‘I am immensely grateful that, despite having the liberty to assemble their team, they graciously allowed us to complete our tenure.’
He commended the staff of the NDPHC for their show of dedication and commitment, stating that they had collectively passed through challenges and built a culture of collaboration, adding that he took pride in what they all achieved so far as a team.
He officially welcomed the new MD, Adighije and expressed that he had confidence in her leadership. He described her as somebody who embodies the values that the organization holds dear and who possesses the vision and drive to move the company forward.
He also asked the staff to support the new management team and embrace her ideas, while sharing their insights and making continuous efforts to foster the collaborative spirit that defines a successful organization.
As he passed on the baton to his successor, he prayed for the success of her new team, adding that God will unite them and help them work as a united front. Hear him: ‘May God Almighty unite you and help you work as a team. May He preserve you from stumbling and, at the end of your term, present you faultless.’
