Gunmen strike in Southern Kaduna, kill 6

Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed six persons killed, while four others were injured in Southern Kaduna, yesterday, when gunmen struck in Bakin Kogi, Kanikon Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Mukhtar, confirmed the incident and added that four males and two females were killed during the attack.

According to him, “There was attack at a mining site in the Bakin Kogi area in the early hours of today(Thursday, March 29, 2018) where six person were killed by some gunmen; four males and two females.

“A combined team of the police and the military are currently on manhunt for the perpetrators. We will not leave any stone unturned until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to book.”

The latest attack came barely one month after four persons were killed in an ambush by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Bakin Kogi village, Southern Kaduna.

A woman was also reported to have been severely wounded in the incident and taken to a hospital in Kafanchan, Jemaa local government area of the northern state.

  1. “We will not leave any stone unturned until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to book.” That is their normal statement and then the situation repeats itself.
