Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki has urged voters all over Nigeria, not to cast their votes for the presidential flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Nigerian presidential election coming up in the next 24 hours, February 25, 2023.

He made this known during his speech at the PDP presidential grande finale held at Uwa Primary School, Benin City, asking Nigerians to reject Tinubu at the Nigerian presidential election.

He stated that Bola Tinubu campaigned against him during the Edo state governorship election in 2020, but was however rejected by the Edo people.

His words: ‘That man who said reject Obaseki (in 2020), now you should reject him. You will reject Tinubu. By the grace of God, he will never become the President of our country.’

Obaseki attended the rally alongside his deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu, as well as the leaders and party faithfuls of the PDP. He tasked Nigerians to be a part of the electoral process and urged them to vote en-masse for the PDP and its flag-bearer, Atiku Abubakar, assuring them that the PDP remained the only party that had the capacity to save Nigeria from its present quagmire.

He further stated that Atiku already promised to lend his support towards the Benin Port and other legacy projects that will help in bringing about economic growth and development in Edo state if he wins at the Nigerian Presidential Election.

His words: ‘We have tried with security in the State. We have improved security and with Atiku, we will do more to secure the State and Nigeria. With Atiku Abubakar, these challenges, problems, and troubles will be a thing of the past in our Country.’

He further stated: ‘I have sat with Atiku Abubakar and asked him what he will do for Edo people. He asked me what Edo people want and I said we need a seaport, and he promised to support the Benin Port.’

‘Alhaji Atiku Abubakar believes in the devolution of power to allow states with more money and responsibilities to do more and develop their regions.’

Hear him: ‘I was in Yola on Saturday and from what I saw, the PDP has won this election and we want Edo to be counted as a part of states that voted for Atiku Abubakar. We should be amongst the states that won for PDP. On Saturday PDP will win the election.’

As he introduced the various candidates of the PDP running for different elective positions at the Nigerian presidential election 2023, he stated that the governor would perform better if PDP won at the federal level. He urged them to also vote in PDP candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.

Shaibu on his part, stated that APC was responsible for the hunger, kidnapping, cash scarcity and all the suffering being presently experienced by Nigerians and added that for that reason, the APC did not deserve to be voted in during the Nigerian presidential election about to take place in the next 24 hours.

He said: ‘Atiku is the only one that has continued to campaign with the restructuring of the nation. To do that, he needs the Senate and House of Representatives members to support and strengthen him for the great task of restructuring Nigeria. We need to vote for our senatorial and house of representatives candidates for this election. PDP all the way.’
