FULL LIST: Mohbad, Odumodublvck, Qing Madi lead 17th Headies nominations

Odumodublvck, Mohbad, Qing Madi, and Ayra Starr are among the singers nominated for the 17th edition of The Headies.

The music award show organisers announced the nominee list via a post on X on Wednesday.

The post revealed that only songs and music videos released between April 1, 2023 and July 31, 2024 were considered for nominations.

“Only music materials including shingles, videos, video live recordings, EPs & albums released & distributed on digital streaming platforms, & physical music media (cassettes, CDs & vinyl) within the year in review (April 1, 2023 & July 31,2024) were considered for nomination,” it reads.

Odumodublvck, the rapper, clinched eight nominations including in the ‘Best Rap Single’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ categories.

Ayra Starr and Shallipopi followed with six nominations while Qing Madi clinched five.

Mohbad, the late singer, also got four nods in the ‘Afrobeats Single of the Year’, ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Street-hop Artiste’ categories.

Zerry DL, Taves, Kaestyles and Llona will slug it out in the ‘Rookie of the year’ category.

The 17th edition of The Headies will take place on April 5, focusing on the music of 2024.
