Popular founder and General Overseer of Ibadan-based Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Baba Olowere, also known as Baba Automatic, has died, Wednesday evening in his residence at Asi, Ibadan.

There are no details given yet by either his family members or his church headquarters, as at press time, as the announcement of his demise was made through a Facebook account belonging to popular Nigerian Comedian and On-Air personality, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, popularly called Woli Arole.

Woli Arole shared a video on his verified Facebook account, showing his last visit to the revered Baba Olowere. His accompanying post read: ‘This was in April this year, when Baba blessed us at #friendsfellowship. God told me that day to ‘Reach out to Baba Olowere to bless me and my fold’.

‘Thank God I listened. Thank God I understood TIMES and SEASONS, just like Elisha that didn’t leave Elijah until his ascension. I am very excited that I touched the helms of Baba Olowere’s garment not just from afar but close range.’

‘Sleep well, God’s TREASURE. We love you so much, but God loves you more. Rest on PATRIARCH.’

The late Baba Olowere, with full names, Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, was known in his lifetime as one of the few men who got a large dose of the anointing of God from the highly revered Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola.

He was also a deep preacher,  Gospel evangelist and teacher who had the anointing for signs and wonders. He has been involved in the ministry of saving souls for Christ for over 60 years. He has also been championing the establishment of several churches within the ambits of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) mission, starting with CAC Oke-Imole in Agbowo as far back as 1978.

The Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has joined the friends and family of the respected cleric and General Overseer of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Baba Olowere, in mourning his demise.

Speaking, through a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaiman Olanrewaju and released to journalists, Thursday in Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde condoled with the leadership of the CAC all over the world,  the Oyo State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and his immediate family.

In his statement, he extolled the deceased clergyman and founder of CAC, Baba Olowere, as he described him as a worthy father of faith and ‘and one of God’s generals, who have given their all to ensure the continued prosperity of Oyo State through their prayers and other contributions’.

His statement partly read: ‘I received the news of the death of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, with shock.’

‘Baba lived his life serving God and humanity. He was a God’s General who sought the good of Oyo State and Nigeria and contributed his quota to making it happen.’

‘We have lost a worthy father of faith in Oyo State.’

‘I condole with the CAC Worldwide, the Oyo State CAN, the members of CAC Oke-Agbara, Asi Bodija and the entire people of the state.’

‘I pray that God will grant him eternal rest and give all of us the fortitude to bear this loss’, he concluded.
