Social media users have begun reacting to reports about the death of Denisi, popularly known as Ego222 on Instagram, who was said to be a close friend of Nigerian music star Davido.
The news of his death was shared by Joel Heugh Booysen on his Instagram Stories. In a series of posts, Booysen shared photos of himself with Denisi while expressing sadness over the loss.
Although the cause of Denisi’s death was not revealed, Booysen described him as a close friend and said the news was painful. In his tribute, he wrote that Denisi had moved countries to be with him in South Africa and had built strong friendships during his time there.
“Love you always, my broski. This one pains me… Cape Town be crying, brother. Wake up abeg,” part of the message read.
As of the time of reporting, Davido has not publicly reacted to the news. However, the two appeared to have been close, as Denisi shared a post in December expressing pride in the singer, which Davido acknowledged.
