With a penchant for policy of expertise and knowledge of socio-economic development matters, federal lawmaker, Honorable Joshua Chinedu Obika, has appointed legal luminary, Mr Cajetan Onu, as Senior Special Assistant on Public Private Partnership.
Speaking through a statement released by the office of the federal lawmaker on Saturday,
Honorable Obika stated that Onu’s appointment, which took effect on August 31, 2023, will be instrumental in spearheading partnership investment interests both in Nigeria and overseas, while also supporting Honorable Obika’s mandate to succeed in creating a better Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to Obika, who represents Amac/Bwari Federal Constituency in the FCT, Honorable Cajetan Onu’s appointment is merited, considering his dedication to duty and his record of commitment to excellence.
The statement partly stated that Onu’s appointment: ‘is well-deserved and a validation of his long-standing experience, dedication, and commitment to excellence.’
‘So far, he has displayed a high sense of responsibility, maturity, dedication, and discipline in the discharge of his duties by attracting various investors and donors both locally and
internationally.
Apart from his appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Partnerships, Honorable Cajetan Onu, also known as ‘CJ’, was also appointed as Special Adviser on Diaspora Engagement for the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs by Honorable Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, the House Member representing Owerri Federal Constituency.
Having two appointments within the National Assembly of Nigeria is great proof that Hon. Onu is truly a “Jack of all trades” and “master of all.”
For over 25 years of spreading his wings across diverse and robust professional backgrounds, Onu has excelled in the spheres of real estate, aw, criminal justice, and construction management.
He has an impressive educational journey, which includes certification in construction management, a Juris Doctorate degree, a B.S. in public administration and criminal justice, as well as specialized certificates in litigation and criminal law.
Careerwise, he has paid his dues through excelling in different capacities, including serving as an Inspector for the State of California’s Department of Consumer Affairs, Residential and Commercial Realtor, Legal Services Provider, as well as Corporate Construction Project Engineer for civic and commercial scale developments.
Honorable Onu oversaw probation compliance with the Medical Board of California while
carrying out thorough investigations of medical professionals, demonstrating his attention to details and legal expertise.
As the founder of California Legal Network and Services, he continues to showcase his legal expertise, managing legal proceedings and documentation for immigration services, small and corporate businesses, as well as professional license compliance. As a special investigator at the Division of Investigation for the State of California, Honorable Onu polished his investigative skills when he handled intricate cases for judicial proceedings.
In public service, CJ was a former vice president and president of the prestigious non-profit Owerri Cultural Union of Southern California, where he introduced policies that elevated the association to greater heights.
He is married with four children and a grandson.
