President Muhammadu Buhari has responded to criticisms from the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over his WAEC certificate.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina speaking on Channels TV, described the issue as ‘dead’

Adesina said: “Critics will always try to poke holes in things even if there is nothing to criticize some people are so contentious so they would not be satisfied with anything from the presidency.

“For us in the presidency, the issue of Buhari’s WAEC certificate is dead, for those who do not believe you cannot convince them. If in 2015 15m people voted for the president despite concocted crisis a lot more will vote in 2019.”

Speaking on PDP statement describing the certificate as fake and an embarrassment to the nation, Adesina added that the opposition party had run out of ideas to criticize the presidency.

The presidential spokesman described PDP’s statement as ‘a storm in a teacup’

Adesina added, “I call it superfluity of naughtiness, a storm in a teacup which is coming from a party that has run out of ideas, it has nothing to offer Nigerians and if they don’t hang whatever they are saying around the president they have nothing to say.

“For us, the issue is there and we would not contend with anybody on it, there is no issue here with the President certificate, anybody that wants to continue to beat a dead horse is welcome. That WAEC issue is dead.”

DAILY POST recalls that the PDP on Monday alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari displayed the “highest form of corruption” by entangling himself in a “web of corruption by trying to launder his WAEC certificate scandal.”

PDP said instead of being “remorseful and apologizing to Nigerians,” Buhari was trying to deceive them about his ‘forged’ certificate.
