Wunmi Aloba, widow of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has publicly appealed for assistance in urging her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, to permit her husband’s burial. Mohbad passed away in September 2023, and his body remains in the mortuary, as his father insists on a DNA test to confirm the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, before proceeding with the burial.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on March 12, 2025, Wunmi expressed her anguish over the prolonged delay, stating that it has been 18 months since her husband’s death, yet he has not been laid to rest. She emphasized that there is no justification for keeping his body in the morgue for such an extended period and pleaded with the public to help convince her father-in-law to allow the burial to take place.
Wunmi also shared that the delay has prevented her from finding closure and has prolonged her grief. She highlighted that despite public calls for a timely burial, her father-in-law continues to obstruct the process without providing a valid reason.
The situation has garnered public attention, with many expressing sympathy for Wunmi and urging the family to resolve the matter promptly to allow Mohbad a dignified burial and enable his loved ones to begin the healing process.
