Bandits invaded the Akwando community in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, in the early hours of Wednesday, and abducted an unspecified number of residents.
The bandits also burnt a house and two shops during the attack that lasted for hours.
A source told DAILY POST that three people who sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack were receiving treatment.
He explained, “The bandits came in their large numbers, attacked the community some minutes after midnight.
“The attack was carried out from the market downward to other houses in the community.
“Many people were kidnapped by the terrorists; about three others were injured and are receiving treatment in a hospital. They also burnt one house and two shops during their attack.”
He stated that the terrorists operated for hours, adding that he could not ascertain the number of those abducted in the community.
All efforts to get in touch with the police command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hasan, proved abortive as calls to his number were not answered.
