Borno State Emergency Management Agency spokesman Abdullahi Omar and army spokesman Sani Usman confirmed the blast.
Sani Usman confirmed that 22 people were killed and over 18 people injured in an emailed statement.
A witnessed stated that the suicide bombers disguised themselves as man when they entered the mosque for early morning prayer.
One of them went in and joined the first row of the congregation and when the worshippers stood up for the prayers she detonated her explosives, killing several worshippers.
The other suicide bomber waited outside the mosque and denoted her bomb as people escaped for their lives.
The survivors of the attack and evidence from the rescue operation identified the bombers as women according to eye
witness.
According to some eye witness the attack is similar to attacks done by Boko haram which have left over 20,000 of people dead and several thousands homeless.
