Campaigns for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari seems to have kicked off in Benue State.
This is just as posters seeking for the second term of the president have flooded the city of Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
Workers who were resuming from May Day holiday noticed that the walls in the ancient town have been littered with posters campaigning for Buhari’s second term.
The posters flooded areas like High Level round about, fence and gate of Federal Medical Center, Wurukum Round-about and other areas in Makurdi Town.
The posters bears the logo of All the All Progressives Congress, APC with an inscription that says, ‘Nigerians resolve Buhari 2019, after healing come greatness, just believe.’
Speaking with newsmen, an indigene, who gave his name simply as Ogbole said, ‘I begin to ponder what manner of people Nigeria is made of. We are having an ailing president that needs our prayer, but sponsors of the posters are making mess of the issue.’
The presidency is yet to react to the development as text message sent to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, was not replied at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, a former National Vice-Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and ex-gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State, Adedeji Doherty has called on the All Progressives Congress to forget the idea of fielding President Muhammadu Buhari as its presidential candidate in 2019, saying the president is no longer fit.
